My Story

My Story

I'm a 25 year old recently married wife, full time 3rd grade teacher, and hope to be in the near future an entrepreneurial stay at home mommy.  I consider myself the "Mommy in Training" since 5 days out of the week, for 7 hours a day, I am a "mommy" to a class full of 9 year olds!

My husband and I live in a city in East Tennessee, although that is not where we would ultimately like to be.  After growing up on 5 acres in the country, my heart is set on having our own land in the country and living near the lake.  Hopefully after a few years in this starter home we'll be ready to make the move to a larger home with more land in a quieter setting.

Brett and I were married in September 2007 during an outdoor wedding.  We had dated for almost two years, after meeting as teacher assistants at an elementary school.  I actually turned him down the first time he asked me out, but a few months later I got smart and said yes!

Right now we don't have any kids of our own, but each of us does have a whole classroom of kids during the week.  We are both elementary school teachers.  But we do want to start of family of our own in the next couple years.  In exactly how many years is still up for debate ... I'm pushing for sooner rather than later!!

Right now our 3 "babies"  are our furry, waggy tailed, fun loving dogs.  Coda, Sierra, and Chloe were all rescue dogs adopted from shelters or rescue organizations.  They are the loves of my life along with my husband. We spend many fun filled afternoons at the park after school.

I consider myself a homebody. I am very happy with a night at home cuddled on the coach, sipping apple cider, and watching a sappy movie on TV.  But I also like doing almost anything outside from going to hiking, to planting flowers around our house, to going to a college football game.  We both love to keep on the move.  I'm also a big fan of traveling abroad ... I even lived on St.Lucia in the Carribean for 4 months!

I am starting this blog as an outlet for one of my other loves.  I am always interested in exploring and trying new hobbies and idea.  As I start my life as  new wife I am already looking to the day when I hope to be a stay at home mom.  With that in mind I have always wanted to start my own small business from home that would allow me to allow be with my kids.  My goal is to slowly develop this blog into a respected and well read blog.  In doing so I will be documenting my life as I move towards being a mother, as well as my journey into the blogging and at-home business worlds.  I hope to eventually have a blog full of reviews, giveaways, and ideas, while supporting other women that may have the same goals as me!

I hope you'll enjoy the ride with me and take a sip of lemonade!
